At Innovation Dojo Japan, we offer students & startups hands-on experiences that enhance their understanding of innovation and business practices, particularly within Japan’s dynamic ecosystem.
During a 14-day journey across Kansai (Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto) and Tokyo, 6 students from the Western Sydney University gained hands-on experience in Japan's innovation and business ecosystem.

Objective:
Promote Open Innovation & Ecosystems: Foster collaboration and innovation by creating successful ecosystems. Explore the methods and strategies to encourage open innovation within global business environments.
Refine LocaliSation Skills in Japan: Gain a deeper understanding of Japan’s unique cultural intricacies, consumer behaviour, and business landscape to improve localisation strategies and adaptability
Explore Japan’s Technological Landscape: Discover insights into Japan’s technological advancements and learn how emerging technologies are being adopted and integrated into various industries.
Acquire Global Business Experience & Networks:Engage with international entrepreneurs, startups, and investors to build meaningful connections and gain real-world experience in a global business environment.
Through visits to innovation hubs and incubators, students students witness how industry, government, and academia collaborate to foster open innovation and create thriving business ecosystems.


The visits to technology hubs, such as, Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab, Hitachi Lumada Innovation Hub, Woven by Toyota, showcased the latest advancements in AI, robotics, and other emerging technologies, offering students a glimpse into Japan's forward-thinking approach to tech adoption.


Series of masterclasses provided insights on Japan’s business culture and consumer behaviour, helping students refine their skills in localising global business models.

The program concluded with pitch events, where students presented their ideas to international entrepreneurs and investors, gaining real-world feedback and fostering global connections.
